Abstract

The O16(t,He3) reaction at an incident energy of 23.5 MeV has been used to study the low-lying levels of N16. A comparison of these results with a previous study of the O16(He3,t)F16 reaction permits assignment of Jπ=0(1),1(0),2(3),and3(2) for the ground, 0.197-, 0.424-, and 0.720-MeV states of F16, respectively.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS O16(t,He3), E=23.5 MeV. N16 levels, analog identification in O16, F16, deduced Jπ in F16.
