Abstract

A recently published formalism for transfer reactions that occur on the nuclear surface and not in the interior—as seems to be the case for heavy-ion reactions—is summarized. In an economic way it allows for finite-size and recoil effects to any order. A computer code—named BRUNHILD— has been developed that uses this formalism. Numerical results are presented and compared to both experiments and the full finite-range code LOLA by De Vries that includes the nuclear interior. Good agreement is found. Various parameter dependences are discussed.
