Abstract
The level structure above 13-MeV excitation energy in was investigated through the reaction in the energy range from MeV. Excitation functions for elastically scattered particles were measured in 20-keV steps at six c.m. angles of 67.8, 89.7, 113.5, 141.8, 154.9, and 169.1°. Besides the two strong resonances observed at MeV, respectively, two additional resonances were required to fit the excitation functions. An -matrix calculation was used to obtain spin and parity assignments of , , , and to the levels at excitation energies of MeV, respectively. The partial widths of -particle decay and total widths of these states were also determined. In addition, the excitation function from MeV was measured at , and no obvious resonances were observed in this energy region. Possible correlations of the strong -particle levels to the -particle core-excited threshold-state model are also discussed.
