Cross-Section Measurements for the (p,n) Analog Transition in Ta181, Au197, and Bi209

Abstract

Cross sections for (p,n) transitions to analog states for targets of Ta, Au, and Bi have been measured. The cross section and decay width observed for Bi are inconsistent with those obtained from (p,np) measurements. We propose an explanation for these discrepancies.
