Abstract

By means of a finite-range distorted-wave Born-approximation program which exactly includes recoil, α spectroscopic factors are extracted from the (Li6,d) and (O16, C12) reactions on Ca40. The production of C*12(2+) is correctly predicted to be suppressed. The results are consistent with the assumption of an α-particle transfer as dominant in the two reactions.
