Abstract

Effective interactions determined from closed-shell-plus-two-particle spectra have a charge dependence which predicts isospin mixing for more complicated nuclei. We infer the isospin mixing in A=44,46,48,and 52 on the basis of the observed A=42 spectra. Agreement with experimental data is reasonable in four out of six cases; the best example is Sc44, where we verify that the np effective residual interaction is stronger than the nn interaction. We also compare predictions to experiment for isospin mixing in A=20 and 24, based on the charge dependence seen in the A=18 spectrum.
