Abstract

The interaction of Li6 with Li6 was found to yield three He4 nuclei via a direct process, as well as through intermediate Be8 states. Large peaks attributed to direct interactions were observed in the experimental data at bombarding energies of 2.0, 6.0, and 13.0 MeV. These peaks were fitted using a simple model which assumed an α+d cluster structure for the Li6 nuclei and an interaction potential which acted only between the deuterons.
