Modified Phase-Shift Analysis for p-He3 Elastic Scattering

Abstract

The phase-shift analysis of p-He3 elastic scattering is modified by using peripheral values for the phase shifts for l values corresponding to impact parameters greater than the nuclear radius. We observe a marked improvement in the weighted variance. We obtain a value of about 2.2 for the normalization of the tail of the He3 wave function.
