The alpha decay of 179Hg and 178Hg

Abstract

The half-lives of the isotopes 179Hg and 178Hg are 1.09 ± 0.04 s and 0.47 ± 0.14 s, respectively. The alpha energy for 178Hg is 6425 ± 15 keVThe alpha branching ratio for the isotope 175Pt has been determined to be 75 ± 15%.
