Outgoing Alpha-Channel Resonances in Reactions Having F17 as an Intermediate System

Abstract

Excitation functions for the reactions N14(He3,α)N13 and N14(He3,p)O16 have been measured in the energy range 3.75 to 10.75 MeV and 5.5 to 10.5 MeV, respectively. These data have been compared with those for the O16(p,p)O16 and the O16(p,α)N13 reactions which also proceed through the same F17 intermediate system. The results of this comparison support the hypothesis of α-like cluster resonances in the outgoing reaction channel.
