Abstract

The production of three He4 nuclei directly, as well as via intermediate Be8 states, was observed for the reaction Li6 + Li6 at bombarding energies between 2.0 and 13.0 MeV. The large peaks attributed to direct effects in the energy spectra were fitted using a simple model which assumed an α+d cluster structure for the Li6 nuclei and an interaction potential acting only between the deuterons.
