Abstract

The tensor analyzing power of (d,p) transitions on Be9, C12, O16, F19, Mg25, Si28, and Ca40 was measured at Ed=12.3 MeV for θlab=050. The reactions studied included orbital angular-momentum transfers l=0,1,2,3. Large values of T20 were observed, negative near 0° for most transitions. Distorted-wave calculations show agreement with the data only when a D-state contribution is included in the deuteron internal wave function.
