Abstract

The cross sections for the production of V48, Sc48, Sc47, Ca47, Sc46, Sc44m, Ti44, K43, K42, Mg28, Na24, Na22, and Be7 from 15- to 584-MeV proton spallation of titanium are reported. The experimental production rates of the various isotopes and their ratios to Sc47 are compared with theoretical spallation-yield calculations. Application of the measured excitation functions to the analysis of lunar materials and meterorites is discussed.
