Abstract

The effect of the Coulomb potential on the proportional difference in ft-values δc for the A = 13 and A = 18 mirror β-decays are calculated and found to be δc(13) ≈ 0.1% and δc(18) ≈ −4.1%. The results do not modify previous interpretations of these differences in terms of second class currents.
