Abstract

Values of the triple-scattering D-parameter for proton-nucleus scattering at 20 and 50 MeV have been analysed using a spin-spin-dependent term in the nucleon-nucleus optical-model potential. The potential values obtained are found to be consistent with those from analyses of the scattering of polarized neutrons by aligned nuclei and in broad agreement with those derived from a microscopic description of the interaction potential.
