Abstract

The γ-radiation following thermal-neutron capture in natural and in 28Si enriched silicon was investigated with a Ge(Li) detector. Altogether 49 γ-transitions were found, most of which could be fitted into the level schemes of 29Si, 30Si or 31Si. The excitation energies of 29Si levels were determined precisely. The Q-values of the 28Si(n,γ)29Si, 29Si(n,γ)30Si and30Si(n,γ)31Si reactions have been determined as: Q = 8473.5±0.5, 10609.5±0.7and6587.5±0.8 keV, respectively.
