Abstract

A J=2 assignment for the O20 1.67-MeV level has been deduced from a measurement of the angular correlation of 1.67-MeV γ radiation. The level was populated via the O18(t, p)O20 reaction using 2.0-MeV tritons incident on an O18 gas target. Alignment of nuclear recoils was maintained in this environment.
