Evidence of E2 and M1 Transitions in High-Energy Photonuclear Reactions in O16

Abstract

The observed forward-peaked angular distributions and polarization at 90° of photonucleons from O16 are ascribed to the interference of E1 and (E2+M1) transitions within the context of a direct-reaction model, using wave functions computed in a Woods-Saxon potential.
