Abstract

A projected Hartree-Fock calculation is carried out for the 0+ states of the Op-Oh, 2p-2h and 4p-4h configurations in 12C and 16O. The interaction B1 of Brink and Boeker is used. The 4p-4h states are lowered to energies which agree well with the first excited 0+ states in 12C and 16O. The 2p-2h states, on the other hand, stay at about 20 MeV excitation.
