Abstract

Energy spectra and angular distributions were obtained for the N15(p, p)N15 and N15(p, d)N14 reactions at 39.8 MeV. Spectroscopic factors were extracted for the levels in N14 populated by ln=1 pickup and were found to be in excellent agreement with intermediate-coupling predictions, which for this nucleus differ only slightly from jj coupling. A width of 210±30 keV was measured for the Jπ=1+, T=1 level at 13.72 MeV. Angular distributions for other levels populated in the N15(p, d)N14 reaction are shown.
