Abstract

The neutron separation energy for the D(n, γ)T reaction has been determined by observing the γ-ray transition with a pair spectrometer consisting of a NaI annulus and a Ge(Li) detector. The energy of the transition was determined relative to an appropriate precision standard. The value obtained, 6257.60±0.3 keV, is in good agreement with previous values and represents a significant improvement in precision.
