Abstract

The hyperfine structures of the P13 state of 55-min Cd105 and 49-min Cd111m have been determined by the optical double-resonance technique. For Cd105, the measurements yield a nuclear spin I=52, a dipole interaction constant A105(P13)=1025.9(2) MHz, and a quadrupole interaction constant B105(P13)=103.9(3) MHz. For Cd111m, I=52, A111m(P13)=697.1(2) MHz, and B111m(P13)=+202.3(5) MHz. If the hfs anomaly and quadrupole shielding effects are neglected, the nuclear magnetic dipole moments with diamagnetic correction are μ105=0.7385(2)μN and μ111m=1.1040(4)μN, and the nuclear quadrupole moments are Q105=+0.43(4) b and Q111m=0.85(9) b.
