Quadrupole moment of 6Li ground state

Abstract

The observed small negative quadrupole moment of J = 1, T = 0 ground state of 6Li is explained by a band-mixing projection calculation for this state which is found to contain a large admixture of two close-lying intrinsic states of the nucleus.
