Abstract
Heavy particles from silver targets bombarded by heavy projectiles have been identified using a counter telescope and bidimensional analysis of and data. Energy distributions have been measured for Li, Be, B, C, N, and O nuclei. Angular distributions exhibit a maximum which is related to the distance of closest approach. The largest cross sections are observed for and single transfer. It is emphasized that the total cross section for the loss of a proton by the projectile is 60 times the cross section for the pickup of a proton. The products of transfer reactions are mainly formed in excited states, but the angular distribution does not depend on the degree of excitation, at least for the lowest excited states.
