Abstract

The spins of levels in 16O excited by the 15N(p, α1γ) reaction for proton energies between 898 and 1640 keV have been derived from measurements with a Ge(Li) detector. Angular correlations, extracted from the Doppler-broadened profiles measured at each resonance, confirm that the spins of the 898, 1210 and 1640 keV resonances are 2, 3 and 1+ respectively and enable an assignment of 1 to the weak, broad resonance at approximately 1080 keV.
