Abstract

Gamma rays from thermal-neutron capture in 12C and 19F have been studied with a Ge(Li) detector. In the 19F(n, γ)20F reaction, 73 γ-lines were found, of which 66 could be fitted into the level scheme of 20F. The energies of two γ-rays observed in the 12C(n, γ)13C reaction are determined as 1 261.76±0.07 and 3 684.28±0.10 keV. The energy of the γ-ray emitted from 16O produced in the reaction 19F(n, α)16N(β)16O is determined as 6 129.6±0.4 keV. The Q-values of the following reactions have been determined:

6Li(n, γ)7Li,Q = 7 250.0 ± 0.5 keV,
12C(n, γ)13C,Q = 4 946.03 ± 0.15 keV,
19F(n, γ)20F,Q = 6 601.1 ± 0.3 keV,
56Fe(n, γ)57Fe,Q = 7 645.9 ± 0.5 keV.
