Abstract

A level has been previously reported at an excitation energy of 14.6 MeV in Be7 from a study of the B10(p, α)Be7 reaction using range techniques. This reaction has been reexamined using energy-sensitive detectors, and the α particles previously attributed to this level have been identified, instead, as recoiling Be7 ions and as α particles from the breakup of recoiling Be8 nuclei.
