Abstract
Energy and angular distributions from 12-MeV deuteron-induced () reactions on and were measured with ∼8-keV energy resolution. In essentially all components of the () () configuration are located, and values are estimated from sum rules. values for many members of the () () and () () are determined from sum rules and the presence or absence of and mixing. As in a previous study of , there is a large excess of and a large deficiency of strength relative to the isotonic tin nucleus () and expectations from nuclear-structure theory. The most obvious experimental explanations for this discrepancy are discussed and found not to be applicable.
