Abstract

Information on the level structure of 19F and 19Ne has been obtained from the 19F(p, p′)19F reaction with 9 MeV protons using a magnetic spectrograph and also from the measurement of angular distributions for the 18O(d, n)19F and the 17O(3He, n)19Ne reactions. The last two reactions were studied at an incident energy of 3 MeV, and the energies of the outgoing neutron groups were measured with time-of-flight techniques. The angular distributions resulting from both the deuteron-induced and the 3He induced reactions have been compared with the results of DWBA one-particle and two-particle stripping theory, respectively, and new information on the position of energy levels and on spin and parity assignments is presented.
