Abstract

Doppler shifts of γ rays from some excited states of B10 nuclei produced in the reaction B11(He3,α)B10 have been measured with Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) detectors. From these Doppler shifts the following information concerning mean lives of states in B10 has been deduced: τ(1.74 MeV)4×1014 sec, τ(2.15 MeV)=(2.10.5+0.8)×1012 sec, and τ(3.59 MeV)=(1.7±0.7)×1013 sec.
