Abstract

The sought, but previously unobserved, isospin-forbidden particle-decay modes of a T=2 state in a Tz=0 nucleus have been determined by particle-particle coincidence techniques. Proton decays (ΔT=1 or 2) and strong evidence for α-particle decays (ΔT=2) from the T=2 state of Mg24 were observed and show ΣΓparticleΓγ.
