On the shell-model interpretation of the inelastic scattering of 185 MeV protons from 7Li

Abstract

The cross sections and polarizations for the inelastic scattering of 185 MeV protons from the first and second excited states in 7Li are calculated in the plane wave impulse approximation using shell-model wave functions in configurations (1s)4(1p)3, (1s)4(1p)2(2p), (1s)4(1p)2(1f) and (1s)3(1d)(1p)3. The results are compared with experiment.
