A measurement of the p-4He differential elastic scattering cross section at 49 MeV and phase shift analyses of p-4He scattering

Abstract

A measurement of the elastic differential cross section for 48.8 MeV protons scattered from helium is reported. The measurement was made at 29 angles between 18.9° and 163.7° (c.m.). Phase shift analyses were made of reported experimental data at 29, 40 and 48 MeV, and error matrices for these solutions are given. The best solution of the 40 MeV phase shift analysis appears to lie between those reported by Giamati and Thaler 1) and Suwa and Yokosawa 2).
