Alpha-active platinum isotopes

Abstract

Nine new alpha-active platinum isotopes have been identified among reaction products in heavy ion bombardments of various rare-earth targets. Earlier results on the decay of 182Pt, 183Pt and 184Pt have been verified. The measurements were performed by using a fast recoil collection apparatus, and the isotopes were identified by cross bombardments and excitation function measurements. The decay characteristics of the nuclei studied are as follows:
