The parity of the 6.89 MeV level in 14C

Abstract

The plane polarization of the 6.89-6.09 MeV gamma transition in 14C was measured in coincidence with the 6.09 MeV ground state transition using a Compton polarimeter. The 6.89 MeV level was fed by the reaction 13C(d,p)14C. The parity of the 6.89 MeV level was determined to be negative.
