Abstract

Absolute cross sections for the Be7(p,γ)B8 reaction have been measured at 8 proton energies between 483 and 1932 keV. These measurements have been used to obtain a zero-energy intercept of the cross-section factor S(E) for this reaction, S0=0.043±0.004 keV barn. A resonance was observed in the Be7(p,γ)B8 reaction, corresponding to the first excited state of B8, and a radiative width of 0.050±0.025 eV was obtained for this state.
