Abstract

Using a stilbene crystal as a neutron detector, the 0° cross section for the reaction 9Be(α, n) has been measured as a function of bombarding energy for n0 (5.0 ≦Eα≦12.0 MeV), n1 (4.3 ≦ Eα ≦ 12.0 MeV and n2 (6.0 ≦ Eα ≦ 10.1 MeV). Resonances in the ground state stated in MeV (with c.m. resonance widths in keV): 5.40 (240), 6.20 (400), 7.10 (210), 7.95 (240), 9.10 (380), 9.7 (140), 10.2 (280), 11.10 (400) and 11.70 (80).
