Decay of 34Ar☆

Abstract

The mass excess and half life measured for 34Ar are −18394 ± 15 keV and 1.2 ± 0.3 s. Decay proceeds to the ground (log ft ⪆ 3.60) and 0.67 MeV (3.31 ⪅ log ft < 5.16) states of 34Cl. Jπ = 1+ is determined for the state at 0.67 MeV.
