Abstract

Energy levels of Ne20 and Mg24 have been correlated with predictions of alpha-particle models belonging to various point groups. For Ne20, best results were obtained with the particles vibrating about the center and vertices of a D2d distorted tetrahedron. For Mg24, the D4h bipyramidal structure is suitable.
