Abstract

A 25 cc Ge(Li) detector has been used in a recoil distance method to yield lifetimes of τ = 68 ± 7 ps for the 937 keV level and 30 ± 3 ps for the 1082 keV level of 18F. The E2 strength of the 937 keV transition is 5.8 ± 0.6 Weisskopf units.
