Abstract

Angular distributions of 13 neutron groups from the reactions Be9(d, n)B10, B10(d, n)C11 and B11(d, n)C12 to the ground state and the 0.72, 1.74, 2.15 and 3.58 MeV levels of B10, to the ground state and the 2.00, 4.32, 4.81 and 6.35/6.49 MeV levels of C11, and to the ground state and the 4.43 and 7.66 MeV levels of C12 have been measured for at least four bombarding energies between 1.1 and 3.2 MeV. Differential yield curves have been obtained at 30° and 120° for the reactions Be9(d, n)B10 and B11(d, n)C12 in steps of approximately 30 keV. Most of the measured angular distributions change slowly with bombarding energy; this indicates that the direct amplitude is still important even at low bombarding energies. A comparison with (d, p) reactions to charge conjugate states shows a close similarity in the angular distributions of the corresponding (d, n) and (d, p) reactions.
