Abstract

A counter-telescope consisting of three proportional counters and a solid state detector has been employed to study the angular distribution of deuterons from the reactions 19F(n, d)18O, 31P(n, d)30Si and 23Na(n, d)22Ne. The angular distributions for transition to the ground state of 18O and 30Si have been measured for laboratory angles between 0° and 160°, and they are compared with the theoretical cross sections based on the theory of Butler. The differential cross sections have been measured on a 23Na target for angles between 0° and 60° and for transitions to the three lowest states of 22Ne.
