Abstract

The decay of the 4.7 min isomer of 118In and of the 48 s isomer of 120In to levels in 118Sn and 120Sn, respectively, was studied by means of scintillation coincidence techniques. Contrary to earlier reports, the intensity of gamma rays above 200 keV feeding the 2320 keV level in 118Sn is found to be less than 1%.

Relative cross sections for producing 116mIn, 118mIn and 120mIn with 14 MeV neutrons by (n, p) reactions were measured and compared with calculated and experimental cross sections.
