Optical model analysis of neutron elastic scattering from nitrogen

Abstract

Optical model calculations of neutron scattering for the nucleus N14 have been made. The energy region examined was 4.5–11.6 MeV. At the lower energies use was made of the Hauser-Feshbach formalism in order to estimate the compound elastic scattering. Reasonable fits were obtained, especially at higher energies.
