Abstract

New absolute values for the elastic and inelastic electron-scattering cross sections from C12 are presented for a range of q2 from 0.75 to 3.14 F2. A new method of analysis has been employed to obtain the radiative widths for the first three excited states in C12 from the measured inelastic cross sections. This method of analysis does not depend on a model for the transition charge distribution and is useful in determining the multipolarity of the transition.
