Abstract

The C12(p, p′ eα) reaction is investigated for proton energies of 15 to 29 MeV. The reaction is studied by five-pronged stars produced in HИКФИ photoplates irradiated on the 120 cm synchrotron.

Energy distributions of the decay products and excitation energies of possible intermediate nuclei C12, B9 and Be8 are given.

The experimental data warrant the conclusion that the principal mechanism for the reaction under investigation is the decay of the system N13 into three α-particles and the proton with resonance interaction of the products at the levels of Be8 and Li5.
