Abstract

The alpha particle spectra from the Li7+d reactions were determined for deuteron energies from 0.7 to 3.0 MeV. Alpha-particle groups resulting from the breakup of Be9 and Be8 are identified. In the excitation functions of the different groups, states in Be9 are seen at Ed=1.75 and 2.5 MeV, and in Be8 at Ed=2.05 MeV and probably also at 2.5 MeV. They are presumably to be identified with the states at 18.1 and 18.6 MeV in Be9 tentatively assumed from earlier work and the states at 16.62 and 16.92 MeV in Be8 as also seen in earlier work.
