Abstract

The nuclear optical model is used to fit the elastic scattering of 14 MeV neutrons by lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. Good results are obtained for all elements except carbon. It is found that the radial parameter r0 used to define the radius of the potential well (R = r0A13) increases with decreasing mass number.
