Elastic Scattering of Protons by Li6

Abstract

The differential cross section for the elastic scattering of protons by Li6 is presented at energies from 2.4 to 12 MeV and laboratory angles from 33.8° to 160°. A resonance appears strongly at backward angles at incident proton energy of 5 MeV suggesting the existence of a level in Be7 at approximately 10 MeV. The possibility of this level being a P4 state in Be7 is discussed.
