Abstract

The elastic scattering of 41.5-MeV electrons was measured at ∼180° where the charge scattering is very small so magnetic scattering stands out more clearly. Measurements were made for H11, D21, He42, Li63, Li73, Be94, B105, B115, C126, N147, O168, F199, Ne2010, Na2311, Mg12, Al2713, P3115, Ar4018, K3919, and Ca4020. It is shown that the results are consistent with calculations based on scattering by the magnetic moment of the nuclei involved.
